Ashley Alger is a seasoned courtroom advocate with a focus on complex commercial litigation. She represents clients in high-stakes business disputes involving breach of contract, antitrust, false advertising, legal malpractice, and other commercial torts. Ashley is recognized as a 2023–2024 “Rising Star” in Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine and was named to the 2023 Lawyers of Color Hot List for her litigation achievements and commitment to diversity in the legal profession.
Ashley advises clients across a wide range of industries, including technology, consumer goods, entertainment, and professional services. She has represented both businesses and individuals in civil and criminal matters in state and federal courts nationwide. Her litigation experience includes disputes over commercial agreements, reputational harm, professional liability, and regulatory compliance.
Before entering private practice, Ashley served as a trial attorney with The Bronx Defenders’ Criminal Defense Practice, where she litigated hundreds of cases and secured acquittals in jury trials. Her courtroom experience includes successful pretrial motions and evidentiary hearings, giving her a strong foundation in trial advocacy and strategic litigation.
Ashley began her career in education and nonprofit operations, including roles as a special education teacher and as assistant director of operations for the International Innovation Corps during its founding year.
She is admitted to practice in New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
